Ignitus Worldwide Video Challenge


Your 30-second video could be worth an iPod nano!

The Ignitus Worldwide Video Challenge motivates our Ignitus Worldwide youth to continue the movement to promote civic engagement throughout the world. We want you to get in front of your camera and simply tell us how Ignitus Worldwide helps you make a difference in your school or community. Be creative and tell your friends to vote for your video by clicking the “Like” button on it. The winner will receive the newest iPod nano, so GOOD LUCK!

Please read the following rules and FAQ prior to submitting your video, to ensure you understand and agree to them. Submission of an entry in the Video Challenge constitutes agreement to these rules. These official rules form a binding legal agreement between you and Ignitus Worldwide with respect to the contest.

Competition Rules and FAQ

1. How do I submit my video into the video challenge?

Step 1: Make a video answering the question “How does Ignitus Worldwide help you make a difference in your school and/or community?” Be creative and be yourself.
Step 2: Post your video by going to http://www.facebook.com/IgnitusWorldwide, clicking the “Like” button on the page, and then post the video on the page’s wall.
Step 3: Tell everyone you know about your video, so that they can go to the Facebook page and vote for your video by clicking the “Like” button on it.

2. Who can enter?

To be eligible to participate in this contest, entrants must be of ages 13 through 18, enrolled in grades 7 through 12. There must be an Ignitus Worldwide/Youth Crime Watch site at the participants’ school or community.

3. What information must I supply when I enter?

Each entrant must supply their name and school or community group he/she is a part of.

4. How many videos can I submit?

Only one video is allowed per entrant.

5. How long can my video be?

Your video must be up to 30-seconds long.

6. Must my submission be appropriate for all audiences?

Yes. The rule of thumb is that if you can’t show it to your mother, it is probably not appropriate for all audiences. We reserve the right to eliminate any submission that is deemed “not tasteful” (i.e. cursing, profanity, etc.)

7. What is the prize for the winner?

The winner will receive a brand-new iPod nano, with 8GB capacity (Value: $149 USD). For more information about the prize, visit http://www.apple.com/ipodnano

8. May I use copyrighted material such as music in my video?

You may not submit material you do not own or have the rights or permission to use (via a license or otherwise) including, but not limited to, music. For example, your video may not contain third party voice-overs for which you have not obtained the rights to use, or third party stock photography or artwork for which you have not obtained the rights to use.

9. How do I enter?

Entries may only be made by posting the video on our Facebook fan page (www.facebook.com/IgnitusWorldwide).
Only the submission of a video as described in these rules before the end of the Entry Period will constitute proof of entry. No other proof of entry or attempted entry (such as an automated computer receipt) will be accepted.

10. When is the deadline?

Entries can be submitted from April 15th, 2011, to May 6th, 2011 at 11:59 PM (Eastern Standard Time). However, online voting is open until May 20th, 2011 at 11:59 PM (EST).

11. How do I win?

The winner will be the person whose video receives the greatest number of valid votes (“Likes”) from the public from April 15th to May 20th, and who satisfies all of the Official Rules. Anyone can vote to help pick the winner; however, only one vote per Facebook account is allowed. In the event of a tie, the headquarters office of Ignitus Worldwide will choose the winner.

12. What else do I need to know?

a. The contest sponsors are not responsible for lost, late or misdirected submissions, server unavailability, or any other computer or telecommunications malfunction.

b. Any false information provided within the context of the contest by any participant concerning identity, mailing address, telephone number, E-mail address, ownership of right or non-compliance with these Official Rules or the like may result in the immediate elimination of the participant from the contest. The contest sponsors further reserve the right to disqualify any entry that it believes in its sole and unfettered discretion infringes upon or violates the rights of any third party, otherwise does not comply with these Official Rules, or violates U.S. or applicable state or local law.

c. Winners will be notified by certified mail, our Facebook page, our website and/or through an acceptable means of telecommunication. The contest sponsors reserve the right to examine additional identification and may choose to accept or deny awarding the prize based on the identification presented.

d. The winner of the iPod is required to respond within 30 days of notification of winning the prize. Winner may forfeit the prize if verification cannot or has not been made within 30 days. Upon proper verification, prize will be awarded and mailed to the winner’s mailing address within seven business days.

e. Odds of winning depend on the number of entries received and votes received.

f. By claiming the prize, the winner authorizes the use, without additional compensation, of his or her name and/or likeness and/or voice/photograph and municipality of residence for promotion and/or advertising purposes in any manner and in any medium (including, without limitation, radio broadcasts; newspapers and other publications; television or film releases; slides; videotape; distribution over the Internet; and picture date storage) the contest sponsors may deem appropriate.

g. By submitting any audio or video entry, entrants thereby grant to Ignitus Worldwide and their affiliates, subsidiaries, licensees and assigns, an irrevocable, perpetual and royalty-free right to use, reproduce, edit, display, transmit, prepare derivative works of, modify, publish and otherwise make use of the submitted work or other information in any and all media, whether now known or hereinafter created, throughout the world and for any purpose. In addition to other things, the rights granted to Ignitus Worldwide includes, but is not limited to, the right to resize, crop, censor, compress, edit, feature, caption, affix logos to, and to otherwise alter or make use of the submitted work.

h. By submitting any audio or video entry, each entrant, forever discharges and covenants not to make a claim against or sue Ignitus Worldwide, its sponsors (including but not limited to the State of Florida) and their parents, subsidiaries and affiliates, licensees, employees, officers, directors, representatives, successors and assigns the c, of and from all manner of action or actions, cause or causes of action, at law or in equity, suits, claims, demands, liability, loss, cost or expense, of any nature whatsoever, known or unknown, fixed or contingent, which entrant may have or hereafter have against the contest by reason of any injuries or damages entrant may sustain, whether to entrant’s person, property, reputation, or otherwise, as a result of, incident to, or related in any way to the entry, the contest, or the use, incorporation or exploitation of the entry for any purpose described herein. Entrant waives and foregoes the right to seek injunctive relief against anyone relating in any way to the entry, the contest, or the use, incorporation, or exploitation of the materials for any purpose described herein. Entrant agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the video contest from and against any liabilities, losses, claims, demands, costs (including, without limitation, reasonable attorneys’ fees) and expenses arising in connection with any breach or alleged breach by me of any representation made in the entry or by virtue of submitting the entry.
